Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death

It’s All About Jesus!

Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — May 19, 2010:

In a dream I was visiting a church, and I could tell that the pastor was a religious man who did not know God or have the Holy Spirit. I sat on the front row on three different occasions. Each time the pastor would come out, put his notes on the pulpit, and get on his hands and knees to plug in some kind of recording device. But, when he got on his knees to do so he would be frustrated because conviction would come, and he could not preach his message. There was a short, paneled wall that edged the stage where his pulpit stood, and on my third visit, he went through his usual ritual of the other two times, but this time while still on his knees he opened one of the panels on the wall and thrust out a miniature Statue of Liberty and a sculpture of the head of an eagle. And, he cried out, “Give me liberty or give me death.” It was obvious that he was at a crossroad in his spiritual life, and he would either find God and be filled with the Spirit or give up. The statue represents the liberty that comes as a result of moving from religious exercise into the freedom of the Spirit. And, the eagle’s head represents the prophetic gifting and moving of the Holy Spirit to bring forth the proceeding word of God. I believe that the conviction of the Holy Spirit is being poured out in this season on spiritual leaders who need to come out of religious ritual into the Life of the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17  Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

One may have heard the alarm go off this morning.  This alarm may have been programmed to go off at 3:00 AM, Monday-Friday.  One may have reset another alarm to go of at 3:20 AM.  This would give one enough time to get a little more sleep and to prepare oneself before entering one’s prayer closet at 3:30 AM.

One may have gone back to sleep.  One may have awakened after a while.  One thought that the alarm should have sounded.  One may have checked the time and discovered that one had overslept.

The alarm that was supposed to be set for 3:00 AM may have been set to 3:20 AM.  So one may have set the second alarm for the same time, therefore it never sounded.

One may have thought to pray from one’s bedroom.  One may have decided against it and thought that one should keep one’s method the same; to enter into one’s prayer closet physically.

One may be committed to the Lord and cannot stop confessing, praying or writing these blogs if one wanted to.  One may know that one has to keep going, no matter what.  So one may have entered one’s prayer closet at 5:04 AM.  Please Lord Jesus, forgive one for being late.

One may have praised the Lord with songs of praise, confessed one’s sins, thanked the Lord, prayed for the sick and prayed for a passage of scripture for today’s blog.  One may have been led to Psalms 141.  Thank You Jesus!

One may have logged onto the website to pray for outstanding prayer requests.  Thank You Lord Jesus for answering each prayer request according to your perfect will, amen.
