Overcome Evil With Good

It’s All About Jesus!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — 3/21/11:

If you will learn the art of being the gatekeeper of your own soul by setting a watch over your eyes, ears, and mouth, you will be an overcomer in the temple of the Living God. You must learn to stop the intrusion of the enemy at the gate. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good, says the Lord.

Isaiah 28:5-6 In that day the LORD of hosts will be for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people, for a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

One may have entered one’s prayer closet at 3:30 AM.  One may have praised the Lord, confessed one’s sins, thanked the Lord and prayed for a passage of scripture for today’s blog.  One may have been led to Isaiah 43.  Thank You Jesus!

One may have logged onto the website to pray for outstanding prayer requests.  Thank You Lord for answering each prayer request according to Your perfect will, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

One may have read the Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin for today.  One may have been encouraged.  Thank You Jesus!

One may have forgotten the passage of scripture for today.  One may have remembered the book but not the chapter.  One may have attempted to start at Isaiah 20 to look for the passage of scripture.  The Lord may have simply put the exact scripture in one’s mind.  One may be so grateful.  Thank You Jesus!

Come In Faith As I Call You To That PLace Of Life And Blessings

It’s All About Jesus!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — 3/4/11:

Rise up, beloved, in the light of My glory where you can be restored and renewed. It is time to stop just trying to get by. Come and partake of that spiritual atmosphere where you can thrive spiritually and naturally. Come in faith as I call you to that place of life and blessing. I will lead you, says the Lord. Only believe.

Mark 11:23-24 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Keep In Mind This Too Shall Pass

It’s All About Jesus!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — 2/10/11:

You will need to step back from the things that trouble you in order to see more clearly and to perceive My work in the midst of all that is happening in and around you. This has to be a deliberate decision on your part if you are to gain a broader perspective. Keep in mind that this too shall pass. Time and chance will not allow you to stop the progression of life, says the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that-the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

Arise And Go Forth In The Strength And The Power Of My Kingdom

It’s All About Jesus!

THE TRUMPET by Bill Burns — 11/29/2010:
I hear the Lord saying, it is time for you to arise and go forward. It is time for you to get up and believe. It is time for you to receive a fresh anointing and a fresh baptism in the Holy Spirit. It is time for you to walk in kingdom purpose and kingdom power. It is time for you to release the living waters that will flow out of you and be the healing agent for those who are in need in these days. Arise and go forth in the strength and the power of My kingdom. Arise and meet the enemy and defeat him. Arise and bring honor and glory to your God for you are those that I send against the power of unrighteousness and against the powers of the darkness. So arise and receive the greatness of My light that is now shining forth upon this earth and into your world, says the Lord God. Arise!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — 11/29/2010:
Resist the temptation to be disagreeable. I tell you the truth that it will only end in conflict. And, conflict will create separation and division. Stop trouble before it starts by refusing to engage in disagreements. Forgive quickly and move on, says the Lord. This is necessary to your health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Matthew 6:15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Let Me Be Your All In All

It’s All About Jesus!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — 11/12/2010:

Stop and consider that I am causing you to get back to basics. It is important for you to be established in the simplicity of faith, which is the basis of relationship with Me, says the Lord. And, it is time to strip away the things that have complicated and stretched your beliefs, your relationships, your finances, and your daily existence. Be content with the essentials, and let Me be your all in all.

Philippians 4:12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

One may have awakened to the sound of one’s 3:20 AM alarm on the morning of 11/12/10.  One may have read the Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin for this day.  One may have been encouraged.  Thank You Jesus!

At 3:30 AM, one may have praised the Lord with song in one’s prayer closet.  One may have confessed one’s sins, thanked the Lord and prayed for a passage of scripture for this day.  One may have been led to 2 Samuel 19.

One may have just prayed to the Lord this morning as one may be writing this message.  It may be 1:03 AM, on 11/13/10.  One may have been tired last night and may have fallen asleep.  One may have set one’s alarm to awaken one at 10:00 PM, yet one may have ignored the alarm and any subsequent alarms and may have continued to sleep.

One may have forgotten the scripture that the Lord may have given one for the blog and one may have had absolutely nothing.  One may have just prayed and asked the Lord for help.  One may have waited patiently.  2 Samuel came to one and one may have remembered some of the individuals who may have been in the selected text.  One may not have remembered the exact chapter.

One may have wondered if this chapter that one may have remembered had been from earlier this week.  One may have checked one’s blog.  There may not have been any scripture recently from 2 Samuel.

One may have grabbed one’s Bible and may have randomly opened it to 2 Samuel.  One’s eyes may have fell on the text concerning Mephibosheth.  This may have been the exact chapter that Lord may have chosen for this blog.

The Lord may have brought one back to the chapter and to the place in the scripture that may have pricked one’s heart at the beauty of the love and loyalty of Mephibosheth, Saul’s son to King David.  One may not have expected one’s heart to be touched, it may have just happened.  One may have been deeply moved by Mephibosheth’s humility and submission to the king that one may have been brought to tears that may have overflowed from one’s eyes and heart.  Thank You Jesus!

Be Humble, Says The Lord, For The Proud Cannot Receive Correction

It’s All About Jesus!

Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — August 5, 2010:

Be humble, says the Lord, for the proud cannot receive correction. Call this a course correction, for I am bringing correction to you, My chosen ones, so that you can stay on the course I have prepared for you. This is not a time to deviate even slightly from My plan and purposes. These are days of great evil, and the enemy is looking for ways to stop you and keep you from My best. Be vigilant!

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

One may have awakened this morning at 3:20 AM and may have read the Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin for today.  One may have been encouraged.  Thank You Jesus!

One may have attempted to post the Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin for yesterday’s blog on a particular website.  One may have tried yesterday as well; the link may not have displayed correctly and one may have abandoned the idea.

One may have posted a quick comment on the website.  One may remember checking the time before one may have begun to write; it may have been 3:27 AM.  When the comment may have posted the time may have been 3:31 AM. Lord, please forgive one for being late for one’s special time with you, in Jesus’ name one may pray, amen.

One may have praised the Lord with song, confessed one’s sins, thanked the Lord and prayed for a passage of scripture for today’s blog.  One may have been led to Psalms 106.  Thank You Jesus!

Develop The Habit Of Walking In The Spirit So That Your Flesh Cannot Have Free Rein

It’s All About Jesus!

Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — February 10, 2010:

Stop and discern My heart in every situation and circumstance. Make sure that everything that you say or do is in complete accord with My purposes. Develop the habit of walking in the Spirit so that your flesh cannot have free rein. You will be amazed at how easy it really is once you make the decision to not just react to life but to respond to My Spirit in every instance. This is a new day and requires a new approach, says the Lord.

Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

One’s alarm may have gone off at 3:00 AM.  One may have fallen back asleep.  One may have awakened late for one’s special time with Jesus.  One may have hurriedly read the Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin for today.

One may have entered one’s prayer closet at 4:15 AM.  One may have begun by praising the Lord with song.  One may have begun to confess one’s sins only to be interrupted.  One may have had to leave one’s prayer closet and finish praying at one’s computer desk.

Individuals may have interrupted one time and time again.  One may have got through one’s confessions eventually.  One may have prayed for outstanding prayer requests on the website sometime during the late morning.  Thank you Jesus for answering the prayer request of each individual according to your will.

One may have prayed for a passage of scripture this afternoon.  One may have been led to Jeremiah 33.  Thank you Jesus.  One’s day may have been most unusual because one may have chose to let one’s flesh lead.  Had one gotten up at the appropriate time, one’s time with Jesus may have been uninterrupted and one’s prayer time may have flowed as usual.  Lord, please forgive one for one’s sins, in Jesus’ name, one may pray, amen.
